At Aya Akoma Academy, we believe education should nurture both the mind and the identity of each child. Too often, students move through school unseen—struggling to keep up, losing confidence, or feeling disconnected from what they are learning. We created Aya Akoma as a response to that experience. Rooted in the Adinkra principles of endurance (Aya) and patience (Akoma), our approach centers on meeting students where they are and guiding them with care, intention, and high expectations. We are committed to building a learning environment where students feel safe to grow, think critically, and rediscover their love for learning. Through personalized support, culturally grounded teaching, and strong relationships, we help students not only improve academically, but develop confidence, resilience, and a deeper sense of self. Aya Akoma Academy exists to ensure that every student is seen, supported, and prepared to thrive.
Tutoring Services
At Aya Akoma Academic Support, we believe math instruction should build both skill and confidence. Too often, students fall behind in math and begin to see themselves as “not good at it,” when in reality they simply haven’t been supported in the way they need. We created Aya Akoma to change that experience for students in grades 6–12. Rooted in the Adinkra principles of endurance (Aya) and patience (Akoma), our approach meets students where they are and helps them grow with clarity and consistency. Through small group and one-on-one support, we focus on closing learning gaps, strengthening foundational skills, and building true understanding—not just memorization. More importantly, we help students rebuild confidence and develop a positive relationship with math. Aya Akoma Academic Support exists to ensure every student feels capable, supported, and empowered to succeed in math and beyond.
